BuddhistMonuments and Sculptures in Gujarat by Dr. K.F. Sompura present an up-to-date survey, in chronological sequence, of the main Buddhist remains scattered in Gujarat. The historical and cultural back-ground is provided in chapter I, entitled ‘Buddhism in Gujarat, chapter II, on ‘Buddhist monuments’, identifies and describes the Stũpas, Caityagrahas and rock-out Vihãras. The ‘Architectural forms of the monuments’ is analysed in chapter III. The last chapter attempts at providing a chronology of the monuments surveyed in the earlier chapters. The volume is illustrated with 18 plates and is provided with an exhaustive . Subject in dex. The book is a significant contribution to the subject of Indian archaecology and scultpure, especially with  reference to Gujarat.
