OOK INTRODUCTION

Over the years, the Most Venerable Phrabhavana- viriyakhun (Phraphadet Dattajeevo) has given many sermons concerning the effective ways of bringing about peace and happiness at the personal and social levels. The Venerable has believed that world peace is necessarily a result of personal inner peace. Throughout these past thirty or so years, the Venerable has researched and studied the teachings of the Lord Buddha especially in regards to the means to creating personal peace. For, without inner peace, world peace can never be.

Personal inner peace is the result of one’s correct understanding of the reality of the world and of life through one’s ‘Right View’. Such understanding brings about ‘knowledge’ in regards to one’s existence on earth, and the ultimate objective of one’s life. When we can know for certain why we are here and what we are here to do, this knowledge comforts and guides us to think, speak, and act in ways that are wholesome. Wholesome thought, speech, and action in turn bring about peace and joy both in this life, and in the ‘Hereafter’.
